MultiChoice Parts Ways With Somizi Amid Abuse Allegations By Estranged Husband
Somizi Mhlongo’s world is crumbling as we know it. A few days after he was released from Metro FM, Multichoice has announced that the IdolsSA judge has been let go from the show.
The statement read: M-Net and Mr Somizi Mhlongo met to discuss his role on Idols in light of allegations made against him. We have reached a mutual agreement that Mr Mhlongo will take some time off to deal with his personal circumstances until this matter has been resolved.
Viewers will still see MR mHlongo on their screen until Sunday, 22 August, as the audition shows were pre-recorded.
In the aftermath of the revelations made in the leaked clips and social media users calling for Somizi to be treated the same way Katlego Maboe, DJ Fresh were. Metro FM announced that Somizi will be taking some time off. The radio station said that this was by Somizi’s request and stated that Somizi will not be paid during his break as he is a freelancer.
Earlier, Somizi Mhlongo shared his side of the story in a long statement posted on his Instagram channel. The estranged entertainer has been dragged into allegations leveled against him by his husband, Mohale. The allegations led to the Dj temporarily leaving his job at Metro FM.
