Musicians Who Are Wearing Masks During the Pandemic

Erykah Badu accepts an award at the Austin Film Society’s Texas Film Awards 20th Anniversary at Austin Studios on March 12, 2020 in Austin, Texas.

Musicians are often rocking the coolest styles, whether they’re performing or just hanging out with friends. But since the global coronavirus pandemic, they’re accessorizing with something we should all be wearing — a mask.

Though states are now starting to reopen, many artists were already sporting face coverings when shelter-at-home orders were still in place across the nation. From head-to-toe outfits to a simple surgical mask, musicians have shown off their coverings regardless of whether they’re at home or out running errands, encouraging fans to be safe by following health guidelines to help reduce the spread of the virus.

Here are some of the artists who’ve shown off their masks.

Billie Eilish

While showing off the pit bull puppy that she had been fostering but then adopted, the singer-songwriter dressed in all black, including her face mask.

Cardi B

The rapper wore a white surgical mask at home to rant about Trump and the coronavirus in what has since become a viral video that also spawned a remix by DJ iMarkkeyz.

Cody Simpson

The Australian performer kept it simple in a black-and-white photo of himself wearing a surgical mask.

DJ Khaled

The artist reminded fans about his participation in the All in Challenge with a video of himself jet skiing while wearing a mask.

Drake

Champagne Papi announced his latest mixtape, Dark Lane Memo Tapes, with the cover image that features the artist with a black facial covering.

Erykah Badu

The singer-songwriter traveled to Austin in March to accept an award at the Texas Film Awards. She made the trip and attended the event in a white custom Louis Vuitton hazmat suit spray painted with the French fashion house’s logo and print. The musician shared her look in a series of Instagram photos and a video.

Jordin Sparks

The American Idol season six champ and her family — including son DJ — showed off their cheerful masks.

Katy Perry

The singer is promoting her latest tune, “Daisies,” with a face mask featuring an image of her lounging in a field of the cheery flowers. Proceeds from sales of these masks will benefit DirectRelief.

Lady Gaga

Mother Monster took precautions while on the road delivering her new album, Chromatica, to retailers.

Miley Cyrus

The “Don’t Call Me Angel” singer took a trip back in time while in the early days of self-quarantine, sharing a clip from Hannah Montana in which her title character is wearing a mask.

Offset

The rapper wore what appeared to be a bandana-style covering, and urged his fans to stay safe.

Roger Taylor

Duran Duran teased fans with an image of one of the group’s members wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a blue bandana covering his face, and asked followers who they thought the masked musician was.

Selena Gomez

Before any shelter-in-place orders came down from local governments, the singer was traveling in Chicago with her mom in February, but still put safety first. Gomez shared a series of Instagram photos of the two in the city, and the final image shows her apparently snoozing at the airport while wearing a mask.

Shirley Manson

The Garbage frontwoman and actress did a little throwback, photoshopping a face mask onto her Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles character, Catherine Weaver, who is a T-1001.

Snoop Dogg

The rapper showed off his black bandanna face mask on June 12, and accessorized with what appeared to be two golden bee pins. Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo took note of the accessories and responded to Snoop’s post with four bee emojis.
