TIME TO SPICE THINGS UP A LITTLE
Blessing Mtambo an African soul born in a country known for its fresh water Lake Malawi, born December 22 1996, found his passion in the hip hop genre as he used to rap along some famous artists back in high school. Intoxication used to be a thing during his performing days as he felt the vibe of the audience and that gave him the confidence in ending his session. In 2013 he was invited in studio and was asked to add a punch line to enhance a song and the words “You have just spiced it up” were; spoken.
These words might be vague for some people but not for the ever growing Blessing Mtambo who was indirectly given his stage name SPICE by the late James Nee. James inspired him in how he used to do things and that inspired his music, Spice saw how people around him were living free and in truth this had an impact and he saw the need to change. Change is seen as the master of fate as it can be good or bad, Spice changed for the good as he gave his life to Christ under the guardians of major 1, being born again made him realise that he had to change from world rap to gospel rap and in 2014 he joined a Gospel singing competition, without being intoxicated the energy he felt was beyond measures. When God shows up in a person’s life the way things are done is seen from a different perspective then, how it was seen before, upon seeing the light it made Spice hungry to bring people to Christ in a way of evangelising through gospel rap. He released his first gospel song titled “who is your Saviour”. Spice biggest motivation is Lecrae Moore an American Christian hip hop recording artist who was the first gospel rap artist to reach no1 on the billboard gospel chart.
Spice is a hard worker who believes in enriching his knowledge and skills as well as getting things done. He has a brand that he is working on and currently learning graphic designs under the wings of his director Tee, also a camera tech basically he is a jack of all trades.
Spice promises to keep the fire burning by recording and giving people the spice in his music as he will be collaborating with different people from Botswana, Tanzania, Israel and Malawi. His single Born to attract under Major one records is what Africa is attracted to ranking number 11 in top 20 Trace Africa. He is currently working on an extended play with Dj Megi which will be released by this month.
His philosophy is to make Jesus famous through his music.
